Senior Buyer (Project Management)

What You'll Be Doing:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for:

1. Initiating and purchasing required materials from suppliers at the most favorable price, ensuring quality and quantity.
2. Obtaining deliveries that meet manufacturing schedules.
3. Following company policies and procedures to ensure a safe, respectful workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
• Identifying and qualifying additional or alternative sources of supply for materials and services.
• Reviewing and purchasing materials based on MRP reports.
• Setting up new vendors as needed.
• Maintaining purchasing records, quotes, and purchase orders.
• Scheduling and expediting product deliveries to align with manufacturing schedules.
• Updating part maintenance records.
• Conducting research to meet customer needs and negotiating with suppliers for price and availability.
• Reviewing requisitions and authorizing purchases.
• Collaborating with Production and Quality departments to resolve material issues.
• Ensuring smooth material flow across departments.
• Assessing and addressing material shortages.
• Coordinating activities related to Engineering Change Notices.
• Negotiating contracts and evaluating financial risks.
• Providing backup support to the Purchasing Manager.
• Performing other duties as assigned by management.
