Job Summary:

The Sr. Buyer manages the flow of materials from procurement through the production process.

Essential Functions:

• Run MRP daily
• Procure raw materials, resale items, and component parts
• Quarterly review of reorder points for purchased items
• Process purchase order confirmations
• Update vendor item costs in ERP
• Prepare cost increase analysis sheets when vendor price increase is received
• Negotiate pricing
• Serve as main point of contact with vendors for pricing, returns, quality, new products
• Annual product line reviews and price shopping
• Manage vendor returns
• Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
• Monitor compliance – SDS, Prop65, REACH, RoHS, COO & HS Tariffs
• Works closely with Expeditor and Receiving Department
• Works closely with Plant Operations Manager and President
• Maintain a continuous flow of communication to stakeholders
• Assist with end of month closures and cleanup

• Strong computer aptitude with proficiency in Excel
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
• Extremely detail oriented
• Strong communication, collaboration and people skills
• Willingness to seek assistance from team members
• Understands manufacturing MRP
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to traverse warehouse repeatedly throughout the day
  
  

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline, preferred
• 4-5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement
