Job summary

Harmer Associates is partnering with a privately held transport company to hire a Senior Business Unit Controller for the Lafayette, Louisiana area (relocation friendly). This onsite role leads the accounting and control functions, overseeing planning, directing, and reporting on operational results.

The successful candidate will have a strong initiative, be able to take charge, motivate the team, and work autonomously across levels of operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• 8+ years of experience with minimum 2 years in management roles.
• Deep knowledge of accounting and cost control principles including US GAAP.
• Experience partnering with operations management at multiple levels.
• Experience in finance and accounting systems (e.g. Hyperion, OneStream, Workday).
• Strong analytical and organization skills.
• Manufacturing or similar type industry experience.

• Work Model: Onsite

This is a critical role for the organization responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the accounting and control functions and reporting operational results.

Seeking individual with strong initiative who can get up to speed quickly, take charge of responsibilities, provide motivational leadership to the team, and work autonomously.
