Job summary

Hayes Manufacturing Company in Central Louisiana seeks a Controller for our Pineville facility. This hands-on, full-charge leadership role reports directly to the CFO and ensures accurate financial controls, prepares financial information for management, and provides analysis to drive corporate goals.

You will manage month-end close, budgeting, GL, cost accounting, capital expenditure analysis, and internal controls. A CPA/CMA/CGA/CA and a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Accounting Certification (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for senior management.
• Develop and present annual site budgets and interim forecasts to management.
• Manage the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze plant labor, variable costs, operational spending, and inventory.
• Lead development and analysis of standard costs and cycle counts.
• Assist in capital expenditure requests and project analysis.
• Monitor internal controls and policy compliance.
• Provide finance leadership for cost savings initiatives and track impact.
• Develop and interpret accounting information to monitor results and performance.
• Responsible for monthly close activities and reconciliations.

Job description

We are looking for a Controller for our Central Louisiana Manufacturing Facility headquarters. The ideal candidate will possess skills to ensure accurate financial controls exist, prepare financial information to be used in managing the business and to advise and support company leadership with financial data and analysis to achieve corporate goals. This is a hands‑on, detail oriented, full charge leadership role reporting directly to the CFO.

JOB ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare monthly financial statements for senior management.
• Develop and present annual site budgets and interim forecasts to management.
• Manage the general ledger and account reconciliation process: process adjusting journal entries and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze plant labor, variable costs, operational spending, and inventory transactions to identify key improvement opportunities to help plant management optimize site performance.
• Lead development and analysis of standard costs and manage the physical inventory and cycle count programs.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing capital expenditure requests.
• Monitor and enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Support the analytical and special projects needs of the operations management teams. Provide finance leadership for cost savings initiatives and track the improvements to gauge the effectiveness of management decisions.
• Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to monitor operating results, performance against budget and prior year, and other matters dealing with the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the facility.
• Responsible for monthly accounting close activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
