Job summary

Harmer is seeking a Division Controller for a growing global manufacturing organization. This high-visibility role reports to VP Finance and partners with operations to drive process improvements and standard costing. You will lead a team, manage month-end close, ensure U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Approximately 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and inventory accounting.
  • Experience leading month-end close and financial reporting in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with timely, accurate reporting.
  • Oversee manufacturing accounting, including standard costing and inventory valuation.
  • Manage consolidated financial reporting, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance.
  • Partner with operations to analyze performance and support budgeting/forecasting.
  • Lead cost center reporting, variance analysis, and divisional management reporting.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Manage cash forecasting and treasury activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and automation.
  • Develop and mentor the accounting team and promote continuous improvement.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys partnering with operations, driving process improvements, and leading a high-performing team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Approximately 10+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in both financial accounting and standard cost accounting.
  • Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial reporting in a manufacturing business.
  • Experience with SAP or Oracle ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and manufacturing finance.
  • Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and partnering across business functions.
