The Senior Business Development Specialist is responsible for growing Visual Comfort’s business and achieving sales targets within their assigned market. This role focuses on identifying and partnering with new customers, as well as cultivating existing customer relationships. It is a key sales position with the goal of driving significant organizational growth. Target customers include residential home builders, interior designers, architects, home technology integrators, and electrical contractors. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales, the specialist will work as part of a broader team to enable customer acquisition, growth, and retention.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead all aspects of the sales process, leveraging sales, marketing, and operational resources to develop and implement solutions.
  2. Conduct at least 16 face-to-face sales calls per week with existing and target customers.
  3. Present Visual Comfort’s value proposition effectively to influence customer decisions.
  4. Network with architects, builders, and designers through trade associations.
  5. Manage existing customer relationships to ensure retention and continued sales growth.
  6. Utilize proprietary CRM to manage a priority-based schedule with customers.
  7. Develop a strong understanding of Visual Comfort’s products, services, and operating systems.
  8. Analyze and interpret data to inform decision-making.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in a consultative sales environment.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in the custom home building products, interior design, luxury home furnishings, or lighting industry.
  3. Proven success in cultivating relationships and achieving sales goals.
  4. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  6. Passion for design and construction markets.
  7. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  8. Independent, proactive, and self-motivated with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  9. Ability to achieve results independently and through teamwork.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems preferred.
  11. Ability to understand and adapt to complex distribution channels.
  12. Quick rapport-building and credibility development skills.
