Southland Industries is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of the Special Projects business across the DMV region, including Baltimore and Richmond as needed. You will lead and develop the Business Development Lead (BDL) team, shape strategic client engagement, and oversee proposals from opportunity identification through award.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in business development or construction, with strong relationship management and negotiation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 10+ years in business development, sales, construction, or related industry.
• Leadership experience mentoring or developing business development professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies for Special Projects in the DMV market.
• Identify key accounts, projects and strategic opportunities and pursue them.
• Build and maintain relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development Lead team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to qualify opportunities and drive proposals.
• Understand construction costs and ensure estimating workflows precede proposals.
• Coordinate with Service Sales Manager for BDL-SAM alignment and support.
• Present in forums to secure new work.
