Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead requirements capture for software development teams. The role supports a remote workforce within the VA department and requires clear communication with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in ALM tools.

The candidate should have a strong background in software development, SAFe/Agile, and hands-on experience with JIRA. Ten years of professional experience and a U.S. Citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong software development background and SAFe-based experience.
• Excellent written and spoken communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and customer focus.
• 10 years of professional experience; military/veterans program exposure is a plus.
• VA VIP experience and healthcare/applications knowledge are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead gathering of business requirements for software teams.
• Document requirements in ALM tools with stakeholders.
• Manage and prioritize backlog items and user stories.
• Perform agile requirement management and elicit acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with systems engineers on impact to solutions.
• Write project documents and manage change control across projects.
• Mentor junior analysts and maintain strong owner relationships.
• Support sprint teams and ensure clear qualitative/quantitative status.
