Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Business Analyst for a fully remote role in the Veterans Affairs domain. The incumbent will lead requirements capture for software development teams, document in ALM tools, and coordinate with IT and leadership to ensure proper backlog and acceptance criteria.

Must have extensive SAFe/Agile experience, strong communication, and proven ability to mentor junior analysts. Security clearance at Public Trust level is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication, able to explain technical topics to varied audiences.
• Advanced analytical skills with ability to integrate information from multiple sources.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Federal/VA domain knowledge and security clearance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Document requirements in an ALM tool and manage them.
• Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Facilitate sessions and develop business process models and specifications.
• Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Elaborate user stories and decompose into backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use ALM tool (JIRA) for requirements, testing, and defect management.
