Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to drive capture and documentation of business requirements for federal software initiatives, collaborating with IT and leadership to elaborate requirements in an ALM tool.

You will work in a fully remote environment supporting VA projects, apply SAFe and Agile practices, and guide backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability across teams.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving.
• Experience conducting independent research for complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Analytical skills and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
• Proficiency with JIRA tools and large Agile projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Document requirements with users, IT, and leadership for ALM tooling.
• Manage requirements within an ALM tool and backlog.
• Perform SAFe/Agile requirement management for product teams.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers on impacts to solutions.
• Write and deliver project documents to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior analysts and establish SME relationships.
