Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the business's needs for changes to processes, policies, and/or information systems are identified, understood, defined, documented, and acted upon. This involves eliciting, analyzing, documenting, validating, specifying, and verifying business or user needs. The incumbent is accountable for gathering and synthesizing business requirements for complex software, systems, processes, and/or services, translating them into specifications to meet business objectives. They serve as a functional expert, strategic conduit for the business area, and also configure the software.

Essential Functions

1. Interpret business needs and issues by gathering, eliciting, creating, analyzing, documenting, and validating user and/or technical requirements. Collaborate on project plans to define, organize, and schedule requirements management and software development. Facilitate requirements analysis and verification sessions. Track and manage open issues and assist in planning and executing resolutions. Participate in development sessions and design reviews to ensure designs meet user requirements.
2. Ensure the success of user acceptance testing, including documentation, verification, and release. Implement practices for end-user test plans. Identify and document gaps in requirements adherence or system deficiencies/defects and coordinate appropriate actions. Lead in creating formal communications for stakeholders. Provide guidance and training to end users.
3. Identify, document, and troubleshoot problems using experience and knowledge of systems, software, and processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor, report, and resolve issues. Develop solutions and workarounds for moderate to high complexity issues.
4. Review, analyze, and document business systems, processes, software, and user needs. Maintain clear and organized documentation of requirements. Contribute to project and requirement deliverables for projects of moderate to high complexity.
5. Monitor and report on project status to mitigate risks and ensure quality and timely delivery. Coordinate projects from concept to implementation. Prioritize and manage new work requests.
6. Address policy-related questions regarding business processes, systems, and software through research and internal/external consultation.

Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in business analysis, systems analysis, testing, or other analytical roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to deliver high-quality, effective deliverables on time and contribute to cost-effective solutions.
• Understanding of core business analysis competencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• High-level knowledge of business products and services, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and advanced SQL query skills.
