Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the business's needs for changes to processes, policies, and/or information systems are identified, understood, defined, documented, and acted upon. This involves eliciting, analyzing, documenting, validating, specifying, and verifying the needs of the business or users. The incumbent is accountable for gathering and synthesizing business requirements for complex software, systems, processes, and/or services, translating them into specifications to meet business objectives. They serve as a functional expert, strategic conduit for the business area, and also configure the software.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Interpret business needs and issues by gathering, eliciting, creating, analyzing, documenting, and validating requirements. Collaborate on project plans, facilitate requirements analysis, and participate in tracking and resolution of issues.
  • Manage user acceptance testing, including documentation, verification, and release. Identify and document gaps or system deficiencies, coordinate actions, and guide end-user training.
  • Troubleshoot problems using system, software, and process knowledge. Develop solutions and workarounds for technical, system, and business issues.
  • Document business systems, processes, software, and user needs clearly and thoroughly. Develop key project deliverables for complex projects.
  • Monitor and report on project status, mitigate risks, and manage project scope from concept to implementation.
  • Address policy-related questions through research and consultation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, testing, or similar roles.
  • Preferred: Ability to deliver quality outcomes on time, strong core business analysis skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of business products and services, proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced SQL skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines while managing multiple demands.
  • Customer service orientation, ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
Additional Information

Salary Range: $71,280 - $141,570. Compensation is determined based on experience, education, location, and internal equity. CareFirst offers comprehensive benefits, incentive programs, and 401k plans.
