Job description

The Client Company is seeking a Senior Product Business Analyst – Lending & Capital Platform to lead the design and evolution of our proprietary Integrated Capital Management Platform.

In this role, you will act as the critical translator between program administration, financial underwriting, and technology teams, owning how underwriting, capital deployment, and program rules are expressed in the platform’s workflows and features. Your mission is to build a seamless system that optimizes workflows to identify, underwrite, and fund renewable projects serving low- and moderate-income (LMI) .

This is a true product-facing role, not a back-office finance analyst or generic IT BA position; you will own how complex capital structures and program rules become intuitive, automated product features and lending workflows

Key Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Ownership
  • Manage and own platform features through the entire product and software development lifecycle—from discovery and gap analysis to technical design, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to prioritize features, refine scope, and iterate based on user feedback and evolving program requirements.
Requirements & Architecture
  • Analyze and document complex business requirements, shaping product features and platform architecture that integrate the Client Company’s core administration software with new capital management and credit underwriting workflows.
  • Translate underwriting criteria, grant structures, and program rules into clear, configurable product requirements, rules engines, and decision
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with program administrators, financial underwriters, and engineering teams to design and refine automated workflows for preliminary underwriting, AI-assisted finance ability assessments, and loan processing within the platform.
  • Facilitate working sessions to align product behavior with compliance, credit policy, servicing, and grant administration needs, creating shared understanding across teams.
Process Optimization
  • Map and optimize end-to-end data flows across critical program milestones—from initial project eligibility tracking to final funding disbursement.
  • Identify bottlenecks and manual handoffs, and redesign workflows to reduce origination costs, improve cycle times, and increase throughput for LMI-focused renewable energy projects.
Technical Documentation
  • Deliver high-quality functional specifications, process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria for product features, including applicant interfaces and automated underwriting.
  • Maintain clear documentation for workflow automation, integrations, and AI-assisted decision tools to support scalable implementation and ongoing enhancements.
  • Document compliance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies (including escrow flows and grant-backed loan structures), and core performance metrics.auburn+1
  • Partner with legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure that platform behavior and underwriting logic align with regulatory requirements and program guidelines, and that changes are traceable and auditable.
Scaling & Evolution
  • Support product roadmap efforts to scale this integrated capital deployment model to other sustainable infrastructure programs nationally.
  • Contribute to market and program research to inform new use cases, eligibility rules, and funding structures that can be supported by the platform.
Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 10+ years of Business Analysis experience, specifically embedded within fintech, commercial lending, project finance, or large-scale sustainability programs.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or co-owning a software product or financial platform—defining roadmaps, prioritizing features, and iterating based on user feedback.
Product Experience
  • Proven track record managing software products or financial platforms through their full lifecycle (ideation, requirements gathering, development, UAT, rollout, and scaling).
  • Comfort working as the connective tissue between underwriting, compliance, operations, and engineering, translating complex business and regulatory frameworks into clear product requirements and rules engines.
Domain Expertise
  • Deep understanding of financial underwriting, bridge financing, or grant-to-loan integration, with affordable housing finance, tax equity, or specialized clean energy incentives is highly preferred
Technical Acumen
  • Proven success translating complex regulatory frameworks and credit policies into technical requirements and automated workflows.
  • Experience with workflow automation, system integration, and AI-assisted decision tools in lending or capital deployment environments.
Tools
  • Mastery of process mapping tools (Lucidchart, Visio), product management tools (Jira, Confluence), and data analysis (SQL).
  • Strong documentation discipline and ability to create clarity for engineering and business stakeholders.
Who This Role Is For
  • Senior Business Analysts or Product Analysts who have built or significantly shaped lending, credit, or capital deployment platforms.
  • Professionals who think in terms of user journeys, workflows, rules engines, and product behavior—not just reports or one-off implementations.
  • People who are comfortable operating at the intersection of underwriting, compliance, and technology, and who enjoy turning complex programs into scalable, automated solutions.
