Transit Technologies is seeking a Senior Business Analyst in Naperville, IL to turn real-world student transportation needs into effective software solutions. You will work at the intersection of business, product, development, QA, support, and implementation to translate stakeholder requirements into actionable specifications.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
• Experience developing business requirements, functional specs, process flows, use cases, and related deliverables.
• Ability to work independently with stakeholders to understand and document requirements.
• Experience partnering with software development and QA through implementation.
• Experience with distributed or offshore development teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of relational database concepts and data movement.
• General understanding of web and mobile application functionality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate status, risks, blockers.

Responsabilités

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders through product discussions, workshops, and meetings to understand business needs, challenges, and desired outcomes.
• Ask the right questions to uncover the underlying business problem — not just the requested feature.
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications.
• Use process flows, use cases, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and other artifacts to make complex requirements easy to understand.
• Connect business processes, data, and application functionality to create practical solutions.
• Review functional specifications with Development and QA teams and provide clarification throughout implementation.
• Work closely with technical teams to make sure requirements are understood and delivered as intended.
• Help identify gaps, dependencies, edge cases, and potential risks before they become development or production issues.
• Bring a business perspective to technical conversations and a technical perspective to business discussions.
• Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing and validate that product deliverables meet business requirements.
• Support release readiness activities and help ensure teams are prepared for upcoming deployments.
• Assist with deployment coordination, release checklists, stakeholder communications, and post-release validation.
• Partner with Support and Implementation teams when issues require deeper product, process, data, or system analysis.
• Help manage and maintain the product backlog, including roadmap features and enhancements.
• Coordinate prioritization discussions with appropriate stakeholders.
• Make sure functional specifications and supporting documentation are completed ahead of development releases.
• Track multiple initiatives at once and communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly.
• Build a deep understanding of the business processes, workflows, and challenges within the K–12 student transportation industry.
• Learn how transportation teams, schools, families, drivers, and other stakeholders interact with the technology.
• Use that knowledge to help shape solutions that are practical, scalable, and valuable to customers.
