Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead business and system analysis for the Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs IT projects in Boston, MA. You will document requirements, guide the software lifecycle, and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, process analysis, and documentation skills, with experience in BRD/SRS/FRS, user stories, and QA across development phases.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant experience in technology as Business Analyst.
• BS/MS or a 4-year degree in a related field preferred; can substitute experience for degree.
• Deep understanding of business processes and requirements gathering.
• Strong verbal and written communication, ability to translate tech concepts for non-tech stakeholders.
• Experience leading requirements-gathering sessions and developing user stories.
• Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodologies.
• Experience with Jira; Smartsheet is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of complex agency projects within EEAs IT department.
• Document detailed business requirements; create BRD, SRS, and FRS documents.
• Develop use cases and user stories; manage requirement changes.
• Create and maintain test cases; perform QA across development, test, and production.
• Collaborate with PMs, Technical Leads, and UI/UX to translate requirements into solutions.
• Coordinate with stakeholders; support dashboards and PowerBI deployments.
