Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an experienced Advanced Business Analyst to support a major Cybersecurity Program and Documentation Recovery initiative. This is an onsite, 12-month contract in Columbia, SC with ~40 hours/week and light travel across county offices.

Responsibilities include leading discovery sessions, documenting current-state processes, creating workflow diagrams, and coordinating with technical writers and SMEs to produce SOPs, runbooks, and recovery documentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Business Analysis experience in complex IT/technology environments.
• Strong requirements elicitation, interviewing, facilitation & stakeholder management.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 experience – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and workshops.
• Inventory and assess existing IT, security, infrastructure, application, and recovery documentation.
• Document current-state processes, workflows, roles, dependencies, and handoffs.
• Create process maps, workflow diagrams, inventories, matrices, and other BA artifacts.
• Identify documentation gaps, process risks, and single points of knowledge.
• Gather and prioritize requirements for SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, and recovery documentation.
• Collaborate with Technical Writers and technical SMEs.
• Maintain documentation backlogs, priorities, ownership, and dependencies.
• Support documentation standards, governance, templates, and review cycles.
