Job summary

WSP USA in Washington, DC is seeking a Bus Rapid Transit Project Engineer to join our national BRT team. You will design projects from concept through construction and provide technical support and project management on tasks with scope, schedule, and budget, including contract negotiation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, a P.E. license with 7–15 years of BRT experience, and experience with transit agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.
  • P.E. License with 7 to 15 years of experience in Bus Rapid Transit projects or equivalent.
  • Experience working with transit agencies and departments of transportation.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design Bus Rapid Transit projects from concept to construction.
  • Provide technical support and project management on projects or tasks with scope, schedule, and budget, including contract negotiation.
  • Support larger projects as a Deputy Project Manager, Task Manager, Segment Manager or discipline expert.
  • Aid local offices pursuing or delivering transit projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel.
  • Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication.
  • Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals and providing other business development support.
  • Management of technical staff.
