Job summary

WSP USA is seeking Bus Rapid Transit Project Engineers for our South Florida, Washington DC, and Boston, MA offices. You will design BRT projects from concept to construction, provide technical support and project management, and help grow the business through proposals and client engagement.

The role offers opportunities to collaborate with transit agencies, travel to project sites, and lead technical staff on multiple bus rapid transit initiatives across the nation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline (roadway, site design, traffic engineer).
• P.E. license with 7–15 years of experience in Bus Rapid Transit projects or equivalent.
• Experience working with transit agencies and department of transportations.
• Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
• Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Responsibilities

• Act as a designer on Bus Rapid Transit projects at all phases, from concept to construction.
• Provide technical support and Project Management on projects or tasks with opportunity to grow, including contract negotiation and managing to a scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support larger projects as a Deputy Project Manager, Task Manager, Segment Manager or discipline expert.
• Aid local offices pursuing or delivering transit projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel.
• Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication.
• Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals and providing other business development support.
• Management of technical staff.
