Job summary

CDP is seeking a specialist to lead day-to-day building/portfolio technicians, troubleshoot building systems and assist the Chief Building Technician with HVAC, electrical, boilers/chillers, plumbing, and related systems. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and technical proficiency in commercial building operations.

Responsibilities include managing service requests and preventative maintenance, reviewing work orders, controlling costs, and coordinating subcontracts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational coursework in HVAC, electricity, or plumbing.
• Universal CFC certification.
• State Journeyman license or equivalent.
• State Master license or equivalent preferred.
• MD 1st grade stationary license or equivalent if required.
• Minimum seven years as a senior service technician with 2+ years leading others.
• Ability to read trade drawings and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Willingness for 24-hour on-call and on-call emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day building system technicians and troubleshoot building systems.
• Review work orders and control expenditures for services and supplies.
• Support subcontractors and monitor terms of the scope of work.
• Provide training to lower level technicians and ensure safety compliance.
