Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a skilled technician to support kitchen and building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and replace components while maintaining indoor air quality and safety standards.

You will respond to emergencies, follow protocols, document work, and liaise with customers and supervisors. The role requires a high school diploma/GED, OSHA 10, EPA 608, and the ability to work varied shifts at Scott House.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school algebra and geometry proficiency.
• Minimum four years’ experience in building systems operations or HVAC.
• EPA Section 608 Technician Certification- Universal within probationary period.
• OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card.
• Must be able to push/pull 70 lbs and distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Provide building support service and inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair building systems and equipment.
• Respond to emergencies (electrical, mechanical, medical gas) and evaluate/ correct defects.
• Assist other trades and maintain safe, clean work areas; conduct documentation and communicate with customers and supervision.
