Job summary

JLL is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team across Gilbert, AZ and select on-site facilities. You will ensure safe, efficient operation of refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems while driving reliability, maintenance best practices, and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes leadership, contractor management, and continuous improvement in a high-performing environment. You will supervise engineers and maintenance staff, manage inventories, and implement safety programs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in central plant operations facilities-related work
• 5+ years in leadership/managerial capacity
• Broad knowledge of maintenance processes and construction planning
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, AHU/RTU, DX, boilers, pumps, piping, electrical systems
• Proven ability to lead a large technical team and drive uptime/cost efficiency
• Strong written and verbal communication; internal/external customer service

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation and maintain HVAC, boilers, pumps and other mechanical/electrical systems
• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff; hire, train and develop teams
• Manage inventory by issuing purchase orders and ensuring stock availability
• Identify safety hazards and implement safety training and regulatory compliance
• Oversee contractor activities and CFWA processes; maintain building drawings and compliance records
