Job summary

JLL is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team responsible for critical facility operations in Gilbert, AZ. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance with emphasis on reliability-based maintenance practices to achieve high uptime.

You will supervise engineers and maintenance staff, manage contractors, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain infrastructure documentation. Opportunity to expand capabilities with complex facility systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years central plant operations experience with 5+ years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, AHU/RTU, boilers and hydronic systems.
• Proven ability to manage a large technical team and improve uptime.
• Strong written and verbal communication; customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to ensure safe, reliable facility operations and 100% uptime.
• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff; hire, train, and develop personnel.
• Oversee inventory management and contractor activities; CFWA compliance and documentation.
• Identify safety hazards and implement remediation and safety training per regulations.
