Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Leader in Building Specialty Services to provide technical leadership in building science and envelope design. You will guide project teams, review complex documents, and drive field testing and construction oversight across the US West region, Southern California included.

You will mentor staff, pursue business development, and lead innovation in building envelope solutions while coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Science with Building Science background.
• Strong understanding of building envelope systems and related disciplines.
• 10+ years of experience in building envelope assessment, detailing, testing, or construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Building Specialty Services business line in the US West (Southern California) to drive growth and excellence.
• Define scope of complex services and establish design criteria for projects.
• Review design documents for water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, and thermal performance.
• Lead preparation of contract drawings and specifications with the project team.
• Oversee field reviews, site visit reports, and action-tracking of deficiencies.
• Conduct field testing of building envelope components and report results.
• Provide expert advice on design processes and construction methods.
• Mentor staff and lead business development opportunities with clients.
• Present technical leadership within the building science community.
