Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a senior professional to lead Building Envelope design and field activities in California. This role involves directing design and construction document development, field reviews, and coordination with architects and contractors to ensure envelope performance.

You will manage multiple projects, perform forensic analyses, and present findings to diverse stakeholders while traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing and or constructing building envelope systems.
• Highschool Diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Review design documents, shop drawings, and trade submittals for conformance with building practice (water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, thermal performance).
• Undertake field review of new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm envelope work follows approved mock-ups and design documents.
• Prepare site visit reports and generate action lists of deficiencies and track resolution.
• Undertake field testing of envelope elements to confirm performance standards and prepare test reports.
• Interface with architects, general contractors and sub-trades.
• Direct Building Envelope design and construction document development.
• Perform forensic analysis of building envelope failures.
• Conduct presentations to competing interests including legal professionals, contractors and consultants.
• Direct field work for assessment of existing buildings and building envelope assessment reports.
