Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in the US Northeast seeks a Senior Leader to guide the Building Specialty Services group, delivering expert building envelope design, review, and field services for rehabilitation and new construction. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, shape project scope, manage budgets above $200k, perform field testing, and mentor staff while advancing thought leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing and/or constructing building envelope systems.
• Strong understanding of flashing, waterproofing, roofing, cladding, rain screens, air barriers and thermal performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and business leadership for building envelope services in the US Northeast.
• Define scope of complex services and establish design criteria for projects.
• Review design documents, shop drawings, and submittals for compliance with building practice.
• Manage preparation of contract drawings and specifications with project team.
• Conduct field reviews on new construction and rehab projects to verify envelope work aligns with designs.
• Prepare and review site visit reports and track deficiencies and resolutions.
• Perform field testing of envelope elements and report results.
• Lead and mentor project staff and drive on-time, on-budget results.
• Develop proposals and lead business development efforts with clients.
