Job summary

The City of Lima, Ohio, is seeking a Plans Examiner to enforce building codes and review plans for commercial and residential projects. Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in building design and construction.
• Ohio registration as an architect or professional engineer.
• Must possess State of Ohio Level 4 Plans Examiner certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs building code enforcement functions and reviews commercial plans for compliance.
• Confers with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors regarding code items on building plans.
• Prepares and maintains records; maintains current copies of state and local building codes.
• Maintains knowledge of latest information in building, plumbing, heating and electrical codes; attends professional education.
