Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Building Official/Plans Examiner to join our Cincinnati area team. You will ensure code compliance, review plans for commercial and residential projects, and act as the primary liaison with clients to deliver exceptional service.

Ideal candidates hold OH CBO/CCO or Plans Examiner certifications, with relevant inspections experience and a valid driver’s license. The role includes opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• OH Commercial Building Official (CBO) (Lvl 5) OR Comprehensive Code Official (CCO) certification required
• OH Plans Examiner certification is required
• Plumbing and/or electrical specializations are a plus (Level 2/3 options listed)

Responsibilities

• Meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions of the building department.
• Serve as the primary liaison with our clients and ensure high level of customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform some plan reviews both commercial and residential in all trades.
• Perform inspection support as needed.
