Job summary

The City of Lima, Ohio is seeking a Plans Examiner in the Building Division, Public Works Department. Under direction, you will enforce building codes, build external relationships, and maintain records while keeping professional competencies up to date.

Qualified candidates must have at least five years of experience in building design and construction for regulated use groups and hold an Ohio registration as an architect or professional engineer, with State of Ohio Level 4 Plans Examiner

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building design and construction for buildings and structures within the scope of use groups regulated by the Ohio Building Code.
• Ohio registration as an architect or professional engineer.

Responsibilities

• Performs building code enforcement functions under direction.
• Establishes and maintains external relationships.

Job description

The City of Lima, Ohio is currently accepting resumes for the position of PLANS EXAMINER in the Building Division in the Department of Public Works. Under direction, performs building code enforcement functions; establishes and maintains external relationships; prepares and maintains records; maintains personal and professional competence and awareness.

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building design and construction for buildings and structures within the scope of use groups regulated by the Ohio Building Code, and an Ohio registration as an architect or professional engineer.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:

Must possess certification as a State of Ohio Level 4 Plans Examiner

• Building Plans Examiner
• Electrical Plans Examiner
• Energy Plans Examiner
• Fire Protection Plans Examiner
• Mechanical Plans Examiner

Starting Pay: $43.51 hour; $3,480.93 bi-weekly
