Job summary

PAE is seeking a visionary Lead Building Performance Engineer to drive regenerative design through project leadership and innovation. You will lead multidisciplinary building performance projects, serving as the primary technical lead and trusted client advisor throughout energy, water, carbon, daylighting, resilience, and occupant comfort initiatives.

You will guide project teams, integrate performance strategies into design, and mentor junior staff while advancing workflows and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Professional registration preferred (PE/RA).
• Experience leading building performance projects with high-performance design.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build client relationships.
• Proven capability to integrate performance into design through workshops and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary building performance projects from concept through construction.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients and develop long-term relationships.
• Lead project planning, staffing, scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
• Coordinate technical assignments across project teams.
• Guide staff in energy, water, carbon, daylighting, and life cycle studies.
• Integrate performance strategies into architectural/engineering design.
• Lead project meetings with owners, architects, consultants, contractors.
• Review analyses and provide engineering guidance across disciplines.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and technical recommendations.
• Support proposals, scope development, and business development.
