Job summary

PAE CONSULTING ENGINEERS INC in Seattle is seeking a Daylighting & Building Performance Specialist to join our Regenerative Design Group. You will lead daylighting, solar access, and building performance studies that inform architectural design from concept through construction.

Collaborate with architects to develop parametric workflows, mentor junior staff, and translate analyses into clear design recommendations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Building Science, or related field.
• 3–7 years daylighting or building performance experience.
• Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper and Radiance-based tools.
• Knowledge of LEED/WELL/Passive House preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daylighting, solar access, glare, and visual comfort analyses.
• Develop façade and enclosure concepts to optimize daylight and energy use.
• Build parametric analysis workflows.
• Collaborate with architects on massing, window-to-wall ratio, shading, glazing, and envelopes.
• Perform building performance studies including daylight autonomy and thermal comfort.
• Support whole-building energy modeling and other analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and design recommendations communicating results.
