Copt-Defense-Properties in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Senior Building Technician/Chief role responsible for supervising Building Technicians and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

The position requires a State Certified Journeyman’s license and a Stationary Engineer license, with 10+ years in a senior service tech role and 3–4 years directing staff. On-site duties include 24/7 on-call readiness and emergency response coordination.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent with vocational coursework in HVAC, electricity, plumbing or related areas.
State licenses required: Journeyman’s license; 1ST Grade Stationary Engineer license.
Minimum of ten years in senior service technician role with 3–4 years of supervision.

Responsibilities

Review and approve work orders; manage subcontractors; create preventative maintenance plans; QA/QC inspections for building systems.
Supervise Building Technicians; lead recruitment, salary administration, performance appraisals, and terminations.
Develop, evaluate, and train staff to maintain high technical competence.
Provide operating and capital expenditure recommendations to management.
