Job summary

The City of Freeport is seeking a Building Maintenance Lead to administer a comprehensive building maintenance program for the Public Works Department and to supervise staff tasked with maintaining city buildings and related structures.

Under the direction of the Public Works Director, this role provides technical assistance to city staff, plans and directs maintenance activities, and ensures life/safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Licenses/Certifications: Texas Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 90 days) and maintain appropriate licenses.
• Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in building/facilities maintenance preferred; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run daily maintenance operations for city properties and buildings.
• Inspect property for life/safety issues and take corrective action.
• Identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks.
• Direct and supervise building maintenance staff.
• Coordinate emergency call outs and maintain service quality.
