Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade; two years of building inspection experience at Building Inspector I level.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license; obtain California license after hire date.
• ICC Residential or Commercial Building Inspector certification required for Building Inspector II.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled building inspections of new construction, remodels and repairs for compliance with codes.
• Review plans and construction documents for code compliance and address deficiencies with stakeholders.
• Interacts with architects, engineers, contractors and homeowners to resolve issues and enforce regulations.
• Maintain accurate records, issue permits, and provide customer service at the counter.
