Job summary

The City of Anaheim Planning and Building Department seeks an experienced Building Inspector III to join the Building Services team, performing advanced inspections on complex commercial, industrial, and multi-story projects while interpreting building codes and ensuring safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate holds ICC certification in at least three disciplines, demonstrates sound judgment, and communicates clearly with contractors, architects, and property owners.

Qualifications

• ICC-certified combination inspector with multi-discipline credentials.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, and specifications and enforce codes.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience inspecting large-scale, complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex combination inspections for large commercial and industrial projects.
• Interpret and apply building codes, and identify deviations from plans or specifications.
• Provide guidance to junior inspectors and coordinate with designers, contractors, architects and property owners.
• Maintain safe job sites and document findings accurately.
