Job summary

Facade Today is seeking a senior building envelope consultant in the Charlotte area to oversee envelope projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and on-time delivery.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in envelope investigation/design with at least 3 years of project management, plus a PE/RA or equivalent qualifications. Hybrid work with strong client engagement is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of construction-related experience with building envelope investigation and design.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and QA/QC for building envelope systems.
• IIBEC certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building envelope projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and quality standards.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets, including risk assessment and mitigation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead in field meetings, provide progress updates, address issues, and guide decision-making.
• Develop repair designs for glazing systems, curtain walls, roofing, waterproofing, and cladding.
• Produce construction documents, specs, and details for envelope systems.
• Conduct forensic investigations of envelope failures and prepare assessment reports.
• Perform QA/QC by reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs; inspect during installation.
• Develop proposals, cost estimates, and project scopes; support business development and client management.
