Job summary

SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Building Envelope Project Manager in Charlotte, NC to oversee envelopes from inception to completion.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and risks while coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to ensure quality and timely delivery. The role requires strong technical background in envelope investigation, design, commissioning, and experience leading complex projects with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in construction with building envelope investigation and design.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, materials and QA/QC for envelope systems.
• IIBEC certifications are a plus.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building envelope projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
• Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and risk assessment/mitigation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in meetings, provide progress updates, address issues and guide decisions.
• Mentor younger staff during field work and delivery issuance.
• Develop repair designs, specifications, and construction documents for envelope systems.
• Conduct forensic investigations and prepare assessment reports with repair recommendations.
• Perform field inspections to ensure compliance with design specs and QA/QC.
• Develop proposals, cost estimates, and project scopes; respond to RFPs and client presentations.
• Manage client relationships, communicating progress and ensuring client satisfaction.
