Job summary

SOCOTEC seeks a Building Envelope - Senior Associate (licensed engineer or architect) in California. This full-time role oversees envelope projects, coordinates with clients and teams, and ensures quality reports and drawings. Travel ~20% is expected; CA licensure is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

The position reports to regional leadership and supports business development, budgeting, and mentoring of staff within the US Envelope Existing Buildings division.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of building envelope project experience.
• CA Architect or PE license required; CA registration.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to travel ~20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead building envelope projects from scope to delivery and reporting.
• Conduct client meetings and coordinate with PMs, design teams, and contractors.
• Review and produce detailed reports and drawings for envelope analyses.
• Monitor budgets and schedules; assist in proposals and new business.
• Mentor field services staff and contribute to continuous improvement.
