Job summary

SOCOTEC US is expanding Building Envelope services in Northern California and seeks a candidate based in our San Jose, Alameda, or Walnut Creek office. The role covers full envelope projects across below grade, exterior wall, and roof construction for new and existing structures.

The successful candidate will lead project scope and budget, coordinate with Project Managers, and communicate with clients, designers, and owners. CA licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-10 years working with building envelope projects.
• Forensic experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.
• Masters in Architecture or Engineering preferred.
• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer status required in California.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Lead meetings among internal teams and external stakeholders on envelope projects.
• Review and produce detailed reports and project documentation, including drawings as needed.
• Maintain updated knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Manage scope, budget, and schedule with Project Managers.
• Assist Principal in charge with proposals and new business opportunities.
• Mentor field services staff and oversee site visits.
