Job summary

Action Property Management seeks a Building Engineer I to maintain and repair common areas and assist with in-unit tasks under the Chief Engineer. You will respond to property emergencies, perform preventive maintenance, and keep detailed records across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life-safety systems.

The role supports a responsive maintenance team, with scheduled hours Tuesday–Friday 8–5 and Saturday 9–6, offering competitive hourly pay and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance experience in residential or commercial buildings.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA 608 Certification is a plus.
• Weekly Fire Pump Testing Certification is a plus.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Customer service oriented and team oriented.
• Microsoft Office and SharePoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life safety, and sanitary sewer systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as directed by leadership.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and resolve various building systems.
• Complete general maintenance work including carpentry, painting, masonry, and minor repairs.
• Conduct routine property inspections and punch list items.
• Assist in in-unit tasks such as HVAC filter changes and smoke alarm battery replacement.
• Maintain logs, inspection reports, and preventive maintenance records.
• Respond to property emergencies after hours and ensure safety certifications.
• Coordinate vendor access and support team members as needed.
