Job summary

Guardian Service Industries, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to manage daily operation, maintenance and repair of city buildings. You will oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety and building automation systems, using BMS/BAS, CMMS and mobile tools to ensure safe, reliable and energy-efficient operation.

The role requires hands-on diagnostics, coordination with contractors, and proactive maintenance planning. Monday–Friday schedule with union protections and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years in building operations, HVAC, maintenance or related field.
• Licenses and certifications for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS/BAS or Building Operator preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation and safety procedure knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and systems for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and BAS.
• Operate and maintain BMS/BAS including alarms, trend logs and setpoints.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
• Maintain logs and documentation of maintenance actions.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and energy-related issues.
