Job summary

Guardian Service Industries is seeking a Building Engineer to oversee daily operations, maintenance and repairs of city buildings. Responsibilities include operating the BMS/BAS, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating with contractors.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, 10+ years of experience, and licenses across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Union environment with standard 8:00am–4:00pm schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in building operations, engineering, HVAC, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Licenses in HVAC, electrical, plumbing; Building Operator Program or OSHA training preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and control diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and systems for unsafe, abnormal or malfunctioning conditions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC and BAS systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and building systems.
• Operate and maintain BMS/BAS including schedules, setpoints, alarms and trends.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and vendors when needed.
• Maintain logs, equipment records and inventory; order parts.
