Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a Sr Building Engineer to serve as the operational backbone of a mission-critical hospital campus in Rowlett, TX.

You will lead maintenance workflows, perform hands-on system work, and oversee a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure safety, reliability, and comfort for patients and staff. You will manage BAS platforms, coordinate with contractors, and respond to emergencies while ensuring compliance with life safety codes and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school with 5–8 years of related experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage team workflows, and make independent decisions under pressure.
• Meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting 50 lbs+.
• Innovative mindset to develop methods beyond existing solutions.
• Ability to solve unique problems with standard and innovative solutions having broad impact.
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct daily maintenance workflows, ensuring all work orders are completed efficiently and within SLAs.
• Perform hands-on maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and facility infrastructure as needed.
• Lead preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Monitor BAS platforms to optimize energy use and troubleshoot anomalies.
• Oversee third-party contractors, schedule site visits, and audit work for quality.
