Job summary

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) seeks a full-time Chief Building Engineer to lead the Maintenance Department, oversee assets, utility systems, and long-term capital planning for a 29-association, 8,500-resident community in Montgomery County, MD.

The role requires seven years of building engineering or facilities mgmt experience, five years of supervisory leadership, and a preference for EPA Universal Certification and OSHA training.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible building engineering or facilities management experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred; OSHA training preferred.
• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direct all Maintenance Department operations.
• Establish departmental goals, KPIs, operating procedures, and service standards.
• Develop, mentor, evaluate, and retain a high performing maintenance team.
• Develop staffing plans, succession plans, and cross training.
• Coordinate department activities with management, residents, committees, consultants, and contractors.
