Job summary

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) seeks a Chief Building Engineer to lead the Maintenance Department, oversee operation, maintenance, and long-term preservation of the Association's assets, while guiding staff and contractors. The role requires strong knowledge of building systems, asset management, and budgeting, with on-site leadership in a high-volume community.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in building engineering or facilities management, 5+ years in supervision, and

Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible building engineering or facilities management experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience in a high-rise residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional environment preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification and OSHA training preferred.
• Degrees or certifications in facilities management or engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direct all Maintenance Department operations.
• Develop, mentor, evaluate, and retain a high performing maintenance team.
• Coordinate department activities with residents, management, and contractors.
• Oversee capital projects, budgets, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
