Job summary

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation in Montgomery County, MD seeks a Chief Building Engineer. This full-time role oversees maintenance, repair, and preservation of the Association's assets and building systems, directing staff, contractors, and capital projects.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years building engineering or facilities management experience, 5+ years in supervision, and strong budgeting and contract skills. EPA/U universal certification and OSHA training are preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible building engineering or facilities management experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred.
• OSHA training preferred.
• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, asset management, budgeting, construction administration, and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Maintenance Department operations.
• Establish departmental goals, KPIs, procedures, and service standards.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing maintenance team.
• Oversee capital planning and contract administration with Board input.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and emergency preparedness.
• Communicate with residents, vendors, and staff and report to the Property Manager.
