Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Service Technician 5 to design, configure and service complete HVAC building control systems and related sub-systems. You will develop software, perform commissioning, and coordinate submittals and field activities to ensure reliable operation.

Must have extensive experience with LON and building automation, plus ability to interpret drawings and diagnose complex issues. The role involves collaboration with sales, service teams, and subcontractors on site.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in programming, installing or commissioning controls systems.
• Must be proficient with LON.
• Knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams and control theory.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems (Modbus, LON, BACnet).
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and service complex building control systems for client facilities.
• Develop and test software to operate the system per facility requirements.
• Prepare drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Order and track materials for assigned projects.
• Assist in loading, commissioning and validating system functionality with subcontractors.
• Provide field change information for as-built drawings and software.
• Communicate progress and issues to management and customers.
• Assist in owner/operator training on the total building control system.
• Support in release meetings and cost-saving value engineering.
