Job summary

Johnson Controls in Lenexa, KS is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to diagnose, repair and install building automation and HVAC control systems on customer sites. You will deliver high levels of service, train customers, and mentor junior technicians while working with a collaborative team.

This role emphasizes safety, field proposals for retrofits, and accurate documentation. You will communicate clearly with clients, coordinate with project managers, and help drive energy efficiency

Qualifications

• Four (4) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• Demonstrate writing skills and understanding of software applications.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex building automation control systems to maximize uptime.
• Provide on-site customer interface and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Mentor technicians and support field teams on building automation practices.
• Prepare field proposals for retrofits and system enhancements.
• Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely work.
• Provide training and documentation for customers on system operation.
