• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4 years trades experience; college coursework may substitute for up to 2 years.
• ICC certifications in six areas within six months of hire are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform combination inspections of buildings and mechanical systems.
• Inspect new and existing residential, commercial, and multi-family projects under construction.
• Verify compliance with codes and city ordinances for Certificates of Occupancy.
• Review third party reports for compliance with approved plans.
• Use permit tracking to research records, plan routes, and enter results.
• Provide inspection results to customers, verbally or in writing.
• Explain technical requirements to customers with varying levels of knowledge.
• Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and city staff.
• Maintain regular attendance and support after-hours inspections when needed.
