The City of Garland is seeking a Combination Inspector III to inspect construction for compliance with building codes and city ordinances, ensuring life, health, and safety for occupants and the public.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with possible after-hours inspections. Candidates must have extensive trade experience, ICC certifications, and strong communication to explain requirements to customers and contractors.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4 years trades experience; college coursework may substitute.
• ICC certifications within 6 months of hire (6 areas).

Mansioni

• Perform combination inspections (building and mechanical).
• Inspect new and existing residential, commercial, multi-family projects.
• Review third-party reports for code compliance.
• Provide inspection results to customers.
• Communicate technical requirements to customers.
• May perform after-hours inspections.
