Job summary

The Town of Addison seeks a qualified inspector to conduct on-site inspections of new additions and alterations in residential and commercial construction. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have five years of experience in the inspection industry, and preferably possess ICC certifications and a Master Electrical License. Compliance with Texas licensing requirements is mandatory, as well as a clear driving record and successful background check.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of new additions and alterations.

Job description

Under general supervision of the Building Official, conducts on-site inspections of new additions, alterations, remodels, and group-up projects for both commercial and residential construction components to determine compliance with applicable codes, laws, and ordinances.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND
• Five (5) years of experience in the inspection industry; OR
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• ICC Certified Residential and Commercial Combination Building Inspector, which includes ICC Residential and Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification, is preferred.
• Master Electrical License is preferred.

Conditions of Employment

• Must be a Texas Licensed Plumbing Inspector or must obtain the license within three (3) months of appointment.
• Safe driving record and valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Clear Criminal Background check and pre-employment drug screen. }}
